travels

Flying home was the most exausting thing ever. our flight from cusco to lima left at 430 pm and we arrived in Lima at 6 pm.  On the flight, I met a very nice gentleman named Aaron. Aaron was also there with his school and is currently working on receiving his Ph.D in mechanical engineering. We swapped music and he said that he liked my music selection because the music I have typically no one else has. Of course we discussed sports, our trips, school, and so on and so forth. And I suspect he thought I was funny because when he told me he was getting his Ph.D. I responded by saying "oh that's a lot of money for shoes." Needless to say he laughed. Shortly after he asked if I was in a relationship, I told him no and how it was by choice. Now although he was a nice guy...he was old. Which honestly makes me wonder why I attract older guys? Is this a sign from the big man upstairs telling me that I will eventually end up with an older guy?

Anyways our flight from Lima to Atlanta was originally supposed to depart at 1220 am but was delayed until 2 am. Yes, 2 in the morning. Normally I do not fall asleep in airports/airplanes BUT this time I slept like a baby. This time I didn't meet anyone but I did eat my very first breakfast on a plane which was mediocre. As soon as we all landed in the ATL we had to legit run through customs and check our stuff in and run to the gate.

Story time:
While I was at customs the officer was making an attempt to make small talk. Allow me to tell you how the conversation went between Jones and I. Jones is his last name, btw.

Adriana: Good Morning!! (enthusiastically)
Jones: Hello.
Jones: What were you doing in Peru?
Adriana: Studying abroad.
Jones: I see you didn't learn much
Adriana: Yes I did. We went to Machu Picchu, Ollyatantambo, Tipon, and went on a 2day hike.
Jones: I was referring to the language.
Adriana: Oh! I'm already fluent in Spanish.
Jones: *lost for words*
Jones: Really? Your fluent in spanish and you were born in Virginia?
Adriana: Yes.
Jones: Okay, well have a great day !

---Oh, how about them apples, Jones?! and what?!

the flight from atlanta to dc was a blur. I was so anxious to get off the plane and to come home. :]
