sad news: in 10 days i'll be back in the united states of america. =[ I really do not want to think about it mainly because the 12 days that I have been in Peru have been the experience of a lifetime. I have learned sooooooo many new things and met some amazing people that I never thought I would have anything in common with. believe it or not all of these people that I have met...we kinda attend the same school. but because of the way society and social circles work in the world, I was never given the opportunity to meet these people. Honestly, aside from the setting the people that I have encountered have become a part of my life in ways that i never imagined. Also, the people that I have met in Peru are simply amazing. I really want to stuff them in my luggage and bring them back with me to the states. Everything is soooo different from the states (obviously) but still the way people are here on a daily basis which is so caring and respectful and sincere are not at all the people you typically find in the states.
Onto more happy news.
Tonight has honestly been one of the best nights in Cusco, well technically second --hands down. First off, Jessica, Taylor, Brittany and I along with Dr. Carrasco and Dr. Banuelos-Montes all went to McDonalds and conversed. It's awesome when you can hang out with your professors and get to know the real person behind the multiple degrees. Well anyways, after Dr. squared left we met up with a friend we met at the restaurant we ran a 406 soles tab ($147 american) aka our waiter and just hung out and talked. We also made our friend a birthday card and sang him 'happy birthday' out in public and very loudly i might add. btw it made his evening.
also tonight, we went to the theater where they danced typical folk dances of peru. it was amazing.
Finally, Happy Birthday to the universe's greatest older sister a munchkin could ever have, Vivian!!!!
Next year boob, it'll be epic. But we'll celebrate it when I turn 21. :]
okay, it's night time I think i'll watch one of my newly acquired dvd's
